I have uploaded the masterplan in skydrive, zeng folder. plz give feedbacks so I can work further. I am not quite sure what the blank areas are on the wouthwest, near the loop. If Dan or Sean have any ideas, plz let me know. thanks.

Going by those pictures Justin just posted I definitely think we should go with the lights so I suppose, Sean, you could bring in your car, or even pick something up on the way. If you’re not sure about price etc. give one of us a call maybe.. I’m just thinking about traffic. Is there a place anywhere near Avery Hill where we could get all that stuff, I mean lights, plasticine, coloured plastics etc.? Does anyone object to contributing to the cost of buying this stuff?

The drill works fine, a little rough around the edges but you wont see that.  Just doing the animation now.

I’ve been having trouble with the sketchup model for the north bank. I think it doesn’t like .dwg files or something. Anyway I’ve done a vis. of of a promenade/boardwalk section for the north bank. The tower is coming along nicely. I like the idea of introducing some colour as well, so that it stands out a bit. Did you have any luck with the lights? I think artists quality plastacine would be useful as well. Unfortunately I’m not going to get anything like that in Eltham but I’ve no problem chipping in on cost if someone else can get some.

Afternoon guys,

Just finished doing a couple of bits for the vertical city idea and thought I’d post them up here to see if you have any comments etc.

Trying to show the idea that this tower can grow over time and that the different studio units can cluster together to create art collectives or larger studios etc. Also has the potential to exhibit art on the facade etc etc..

How’s everone else getting on?

I popped down to the model shop today to have a look at some bits, they had some coloured cellophane that might be handy and could be stuck onto perspex using spray glue, also thought we could use coloured beads to make the tower, thread them onto some wire or something?

Tried painting the foamboard, the white paint didn’t work too well but the black looked pretty good – certainly made it look much neater. I’ll bring it in on monday.

Been having trouble getting the model to look any good so I’ve gone old skool and started montaging some images… Here’s the first one, I’m working on a couple of others

It’s been a bit of a trial to fit all the bits together so the scale may have been lost a bit.  I’ll use this to do an animation, although it won’t have any trees or vegetation on it!  We’ll have to do some visualisations for that.

I’ve uploaded the first draft of the masterplan to the skydrive. It’s called Urban development masterplan (not to scale).pdf. It needs alot more work and I think your photoshopping skills will come in handy Zeng for the final draft. How about the High ‘C’…? (Its not really a loop is it?)
